Aziz Maraka has been playing the piano and singing for as long as he can remember. His skills became apparent as a freshman in college, when he won first place in a Jordan competition for music composition. Aziz then started working on singles, and releasing them back to back, until “Amman” was posted online, and went viral… “Bent El Nass” then follows, which is his breakthrough in Egypt – and that has a very special place in Aziz’s heart… Since then, Aziz has released several hits, reaching millions of listeners around the Arab world, and grew his fan base in the Middle East and North Africa, where over 15000 people attended a concert in Cairo where he was headlining, and gathered over 5000 fans in Amman for his latest concert. In July 2018, Aziz took the streets of Alexandria where he sang to his fans in a very casual set up. No mics, no lights, no sound system. Just him, a Ukulele and a guitarist. Over 1000 people would rush where Aziz would make a surprise appearance, as they got to meet him and take selfies, sing, and have the time of their lives. Aziz had his 1st - own concert in Beirut – that sold out immediately, followed by Damascus where 3000 fans treated him to a sold out concert. This is what Aziz described as: Massive Love! “Mafi Mennik” is now a common phrase among youth in the Arab World, following Aziz’s June release of his single. The title, the melody and the Live recording of the music video, took this track, and Aziz’s career, to new heights! 1.4M views in just a few days - on YouTube, and as many on all other platforms… and exceeded 3.6M in less than 8months. So don't be surprised if when you say “Aziz”, the response goes: Tatatata… In Sept 2019, Aziz made his grand UAE debut by performing in Abu Dhabi, in front of a sold out venue – as tickets were all gone in less than 3 days! The week after, he shot his 2nd Live Music Video “Wein Ma Tkooni” in a small village in Lebanon, where all the audio was once again recorded live. While in Lebanon, Aziz collaborated with Adonis Band, on “Nater”, which they also performed together in Aziz’s massive October concert in Amman’s Roman Amphitheatre. A few weeks later, 12000 fans rushed to Al Manara in Egypt on November 22nd to watch Aziz in concert, and the next day, the iconic Bibliotheca in Alexandria hosted Aziz and his musicians to a unique and emotional sold out concert…Palestine, Egypt again and again… until Aziz sings his love of the Egyptian Golden Days, and decides to transform into Abdel Halim… and rewind to the 60’s! This hit was called “Mawali” and was released early 2020 and has a cumulative of over 2.5M views online… A few days later, the UAE came knocking on Aziz’s door again, with 3 concerts in 3 weeks… Sharjah’s Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Abu Dhabi’s Cultural Foundation but this time as a special guest appearance with Adonis Band, and a solo piano night in Dubai… All Sold Out - All very close to Aziz’s heart… yes, he has been busy - and for all the reasons he loves. As nothing stops Aziz from pursuing his heart and beliefs, even in the times of Covid-19, he just released “Dalia” a song he has been working on for 2 years. It is the story of a young girl, who was forced to marry at a very young age… and then comes “Dalia”, her daughter, that is now facing the same fate… Another women empowerment message, an inspiring story yet again! The lyrics’ video was made out of drawings that fans shared with Aziz, after seeking their support on how they perceive Dalia… Today, Aziz is finalizing his next release, “Kelmetein”, that tackles “mental health” and “loneliness when not alone”. This song was written in Feb 2019, but the release kept being pushed… until now. Now that these topics are relevant to everyone around the world. Now that these “Kelmetein” mean way more than what it seems… So, where is Aziz from? Citizen of the World… of the ARAB world, as he is Jordanian, born in Tunisia, from a Palestinian father and a Lebanese mother, but home is MUSIC.
