In the relentless pursuit of her dream, Lavie spends hours crafting her music. She focuses tremendously on songwriting, ensuring that the message she wants to convey her audience through her music is clear. As someone who grew up reading classic poems and dramas, Lavie believes that feelings that cannot be explained otherwise can be expressed through art and fusing it with music can be one of the best ways, if not the best way, to express what we feel without explicitly stating it. Some of Lavie’s songs are her testimony while some are fabricated narrations. “I write a lot, when a new theme pops in my head, I take out my phone and write it down or record voice notes. It helps me remember and capture the feelings and emotions surrounding the song. Sometimes I write songs at 2 am in my bedroom. I don’t have a timetable; it doesn’t work for me. When I am feeling it, I write whatever is coming in a diary or my phone.” After giving it a lot of thought, Lavie decided to release ‘Violet Rose’ as her first single in 2023. “It was not an easy decision; when you write tons of songs and are proud of each one of them, you find it hard to choose the best one. I spent less time writing 'Violet Rose' compared to the other 13 songs from the album ‘Forbidden,’ so I chose it. The song is bold like the color violet and it felt like the right thing to do at that moment”. ‘Violet Rose’ received much appreciation from across the globe, with the song being streamed heavily in India, the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Canada in the first six months of its release. “It feels like a dream, to receive such love and admiration in a short span of my music career is unfathomable”, says Lavie on looking back at her still-new music journey. “When I see people responding “I love your songs”, “Violet Rose is my favorite”, “Your songs made me happy”, “I am excited for the next song”, it really makes me want to work even harder, the feeling is so surreal”. “It is just the beginning, the task wouldn’t be easy but, what good has ever come easily?” Lavie is set to release her first studio album – Forbidden – in 2025 and has already started working on her second studio album.
