Rahma Riad is an Iraqi artist. She inherited her musical talent and beautiful voice from her father, the legendary artist Riad Ahmed, who also urged her to start singing at a very young age. After her father's death and the outbreak of the Iraqi war, Rahma’s family moved to Oman, where she performed in many charity events and in school concerts. Rahma, later on, performed a duet with Haitham Yousef entitled "Rehamouni", which was dedicated to her father’s memory. In 2010, Rahma participated in Star Academy and competed for the first prize. Although she reached the final stage in the competition, Rahma didn't win but continued perfecting her artistic talents and widening her musical knowledge by taking up private lessons in violin and studying Oriental Music. In 2013, Rahma signed a management agreement with the company Music Is My Life and a music production agreement with Watary. Soon after, in April 2014, she released the music video, “Bosa”, the first product of her collaboration with Music Is My Life and Watary. Since then, the music video has gathered more than 5 million views on her official YouTube channel. The same year, Rahma Riad won the title of Best Arab Rising Star at the Murex d'Or 2014 ceremony. In 2015, she launched her single “Anoudi” with a lyric video that was so original that even TVs requested to play it. In 2016 the lyric video for the romantic song "Weinak". And in 2017, Rahma finally released the new single "Khof Alay" where the combination between her father's vice and hers has captivated the Iraqi and khaleeji audiences.
