Biography

Fady Ferraye

Fady Ferraye's sound is a deep affair, mysterious, sexy, dreamy electronic dance music, with a driving heavy techno-house beat and bass. It takes you over. Lebanese/Italian DJ, producer, songwriter, label owner and event promoter Fady Ferraye has not had a normal upbringing for an artist. As a youngster growing up under the bombs of the Lebanese civil war, with access to his uncle’s vast record collection, he learned to shuttle his gigs from one shelter to another while staying in the mix. An unconventional start to a career that has heard him share his sound around the world. He has already rocked many cities in countries around the globe (India, Bahrain, Qatar, U.A.E., France, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Jordan, Romania, Armenia and other) Based in Amsterdam for more than 8 years, his dance tracks have been released on labels around the Globe: Audio Therapy, Frisky, Manual, Baroque, Alterimage, The Sessions, Particles and Per-Vurt, to name a few. His works are regularly played by world celebrity DJs including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Dave Seaman, John Digweed and James Zabiela. Dimitri Andreas, Chris Fortier, Cid-Inc, Pole Folder, and Kiko are among the artists that have remixed Fady’s works. He has also released music under the alias Free Jerk Inlay (with Eelke Kleijn (NL), Free Jerk Inlay is the anagram of Ferraye + Kleijn), Fading Ocean (together with M'ocean (USA), Moonfish, and Wandering In Arabia. He also started a new pseudonym called Kibosh. Other than headlining in events, Fady Ferraye has been chosen to support big names in the dance scene, like Dave Seaman, Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren, Sasha, Christian Smith, Sander Kleinenberg, Kid Loco, Judge Jules, Tiesto, Marco V, Anthony Pappa, Deep Dish, Chuckie, Cirque Du Soleil, Guy J, Robert Babicz and many other. He played in big festivals like Sensation, Vrij Festival in Amsterdam, A Day At The Park in Amsterdam, Little Sins, Amsterdam Dance Events, Forestronika, Gumball 3000, fashion shows e.g. the Fashion Tv Boat Party, and brands launching parties like Sony PS2 and other. Fady’s axis was formed by famous club residencies: At legendary party scene Club NL in Amsterdam (since 2005), and a top-50 ranked club B018 in Beirut (1999-2013), Strange Fruit, The Basement, and lately Playroom in Beirut. From there he shuttles across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, unobtrusive, shunning the hoopla, peddling his hypnotic mix. Hurly Burly is Fady’s current signature evening developed with his buddy DJ, television personality and music lover Johnny de Mol, at Club NL in Amsterdam, since 2008, it is an unpredictable wild and moving musical evening at which any of their DJ friends come in and share the booth, like Sander Kleinenberg, Sasha, Guy J, Nhar, Dimitri Nakov, Miss Nine, Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn and many others. Beautiful people outside line up early just to be a part of the Hurly Burly, Which, by the way, is also the name of Fady’s monthly radio show on the NY based dance station Frisky Radio. Fady Ferraye is one of the few DJs on the planet who never abandoned mixing on turntables (now upon request), he believes that every music lover should preserve when he/she can the vinyl culture. In October 2011 Fady Ferraye appeared on renowned Dutch tv presenter Bridget Maasland's famous show “Hoe Hou Ik Het Spannend”, the show was watched by more than one million viewers in The Netherlands, and the same month, he was chosen as Man Of The Month by the Dutch famous magazine JFK. In January 2014 he started a new side project together with German indie guitarist Nikolai Onken. And later same year he moved back to Lebanon, where he is playing a weekly residency at Moon Republic's Beirut famous after-hours party "No After // No Party" and in summer 2014 he has started a new career as the Curator In Chief at Arab World's leading music streaming service Anghami (40M Users). In 2016 he released a new single with Johnny de Mol aka El Topo, the song was remixed by Silinder and both versions were supported by Important DJs and released through Dutch label "Manual". The Same year, his song Amman reached the 200k plays at Anghami, making it his most famous track in the Middle East and North Africa. In early 2017 his page at Anghami hit the 250K followers mark, (currently 313K), making him the most followed Middle Eastern DJ at Anghami. This man loves dance music. He will move your soul. The words leave off here. Take a listen. (Gabe Marino, USA)
