جيمي والقديس

Jimi & The Saint (JATS) is a Cairo-based band, founded during late 2015 by guitarist/ composer Rami Sidky, and singer/songwriter Jimi Elgohary. Both musicians share a significant experience in live music performance and songwriting, based on their participation in notable bands and musical projects in the local music scene for over 13 years. JATS was initiated as a means to realise the shared ambition of the band’s two founders; to create a new sound in the local and regional music scene based on the musical identity and experience of both musicians, which is a unique blend between Rock music and vivid Electronic elements fused with profound Arabic lyrics. The band also collaborates with different music producers to garner an inclusive set of musical ideas for the production of sonically vibrant music. JATS’ lyrical content is mainly focused on tackling social issues considered as controversial in the Arab society from a progressive perspective, driven by the band members’ interest in promoting freedom of speech and social empowerment. Both members are active participants in the development of the local independent music scene through their entrepreneurial work.
