Sereen

Sereen is a Palestinian Muslim woman living in the western suburbs of Sydney. Her passion for music began at the age of 9 when she picked up her first guitar in the city of Amman, Jordan. Later, the passion for music production grew after moving to Australia in 2012 where she began teaching herself all things music. Sereen is also an aspiring film maker and screenwriter. Her first directorial debut was her short film 'Towel Head' which won its first award at the 'Made in the West' film festival for Audience Choice and Best Short Film. Sereen is motivated to continue writing minority stories and breaking the stereotypes in every angle possible. After kickstarting her career on Tiktok, her audience began to express their feelings on how much they needed to see “A Hijabi Muslim” in the creative industry. This led to Sereen’s drive to create original music that has been influenced from both her Arab and Australian culture. Growing up as a Muslim/Arab, Sereen continues to express herself and her culture through music and film in hopes to bring more diversity into the creative industry.
