The problems with body mass index (BMI)

Can a blood test detect 50 cancers and save lives—or is this another expensive medical promise without proof? 

I support community clinics, medical research, and taxing billionaires—so why am I voting against three California propositions that claim to support those same goals? 

Just because you can measure something doesn't mean it's the most important thing. 

Medicine has evolved from a calling into an industry, adept at dispensing procedures and pills (and gigantic bills), but less good at actual health. Most reformers call for big, bold action. What happens if, instead, you think small?
