Tawbah - Repentance

In this lecture, we reflect on the beautiful Name of Allah Al-Kareem, exploring His nobility, gentleness, and boundless generosity, and how He honours us despite our shortcomings. 

In this lecture, we explain the attribute of Allah 'Ḥayiyy', clarifying its true meaning. We explore how this attribute encourages self-respect and modesty, and guides us to live by high moral principles while strengthening our connection with Allah. 

Istighfar, or seeking forgiveness, both prevents hardship and is a means of relieving hardship. Sh. Omar Suleiman describes one of the best du’as to make for seeking Allah’s forgiveness. 

€œTo be spared and grateful Is more beloved than to be tested and patient Sh. Omar Suleiman reflects on the idea of asking Allah for hardship in order to gain more reward. However it is a narrated that to be spared and grateful is better than to be tested and patient. 

As humans, we are all bound to sin, but the believer is one who repents after making a mistake. Learn about repentance in Islam and the different ways of returning to Allah and seeking forgiveness.
