Tawbah - Repentance

In this lecture, we explain the meanings of Allah’s names Al Ghafoor, Ar-Rahmaan and Ar-Raheem, showing how His vast and continuous mercy appears through forgiveness, provision, guidance, compassion, divine laws, and His love for those who repent before death. 

In this lecture, we explore the beautiful name of Allah Al-Haseeb, its deep meanings as the One who is sufficient and perfectly accounts for all things, and how remembering it brings comfort through life’s hardest moments. 

Istighfar, or seeking forgiveness, both prevents hardship and is a means of relieving hardship. Sh. Omar Suleiman describes one of the best du’as to make for seeking Allah’s forgiveness. 

€œTo be spared and grateful Is more beloved than to be tested and patient Sh. Omar Suleiman reflects on the idea of asking Allah for hardship in order to gain more reward. However it is a narrated that to be spared and grateful is better than to be tested and patient. 

As humans, we are all bound to sin, but the believer is one who repents after making a mistake. Learn about repentance in Islam and the different ways of returning to Allah and seeking forgiveness.
